Twenty five, do or die

by: Eric B.

Sun Mar 02, 2008 at 14:49:22 PM EST

Three of you have supported Mark Schauer through the campaign we're running for the next six days.  Thanks to those three ... the rest of you, what's your excuse?

We're running this campaign right now, because in less than a week, Dick "Big Time" Cheney will be dropping in to scare children into behaving and raise money for Tim Walberg.  Walberg's re-election campaign thusfar is notable in its complete ineptness, and had district Republicans talking about running someone against him in the primary.  In fact, one suspects that the real reason why Cheney is coming to town is so he can strangle Clark Bisbee with his bare hands as a lesson to the rest of the Jackson County GOP.

I'm happy to announce that this campaign is not just a Michigan Liberal campaign, but one that we are partnering with Blogging for Michigan on.  You can either contribute loot, or you can volunteer for the Schauer campaign here.

Great, love to see the support for Mark everywhere! (4.00 / 2)
But I have to wonder at the reasoning to put a collaberative blogosphere effort, complete with shaming non-participants, behind one of the fastest rising stars with one of the strongest fundraising machines going in the state.

I'm certainly not trying to discourage anyone from supporting Senator Schauer in any way they want to or can, just wondering why we latch onto the campaign as our special project that is already leaving everyone in the dust.

Seems an odd choice.

History & Timing (4.00 / 2)

Everyone (including me) thought that Joe Schwartz would wipe the floor with Walberg since Timmy is such a nutjob.  Club for Growth swooped in an bought the election last time and now the Veep is coming to town to raise money for Walberg.

There are a lot of great candidates out there and if you are able, support them all.  Mark's near and dear to a lot of us at MichLib because he was one of the first legislators to fully embrace the blogosphere.

Timing (4.00 / 2)
It's a matter of timing. It's a way to remind readers of the type of Republican Schauer is up against. We can't take anything for granted. While Cheney is raising money for Walberg, we can do our part.

Just in Case (4.00 / 1)
  Just in case,I'm #3.5

#6 (4.00 / 2)
I'm proud to be a Schauer supporter, not just as a blogger but as a resident of Michigan.  I may not live in his district but Mark's the kind of politician that we need in D.C.

I just donated at ActBlue! (4.00 / 3)
Done!

BTW, it is great to see these 2 blogs working together.

Best of luck to Mark (4.00 / 1)
and I'm glad MichLib and BFM are doing this but my resources are limited and as most people I have to pick and choose where I can put those resources.

Cheney in Marshall (0.00 / 0)
I sent Schauer a check as soon as I heard Cheney was coming to my hometown.  Both Cheney and Romney will have come to Marshall within a two month period and it isn't all that Republican or all that big.  Scary.

We want to help (4.00 / 5)
Your friends at Blue America want to help out too. Yesterday DownWithTyranny asked our readers to chip in and today Crooks & Liars did the same.

We are deeply appreciated of your help (4.00 / 2)
This is a prime pickup opportunity for Democrats, and Schauer would be a great Congressman.
