UPDATE:  New CD-07 Numbers!
UPDATE 2:  More Numbers!

We're starting to get gotten all of the fundraising numbers for the first three months of 2008 for the Michigan Congressional races. Please note, all sources for data will be cited.  Press releases will likely differ from the FEC filings since campaigns have more than one source of income.

CD-07
Sen. Mark Schauer (D-Battle Creek) has raised more than $326,000 this quarter with more than $750,000 in cash on hand.  (Source:  Schauer Campaign press release)  [FEC Reports say $323,549.59] Jim Berryman raised $0 and has $16,098.82 cash on hand while Sharon Renier raised $275.00, has a total of $45.04 cash on hand and owes a campaign debt of $5,200.00.  Congressman Walberg raised $265,095.70 ($87,500 from PACs) and has a total of $604,466.54 cash on hand.  Brad Smith raised $0, $465.83 cash on hand and debt of $138,150.  Former Congressman Joe Schwarz raised $300.00 and has $59,144.09 cash on hand. (Source:  FEC Campaign Reports)

CD-09
Democratic candidate Gary Peters has raised more than $346,000 this quarter bringing his total raised to nearly $748,000.  (Source:  Peters Campaign press release)  Incumbent Joe Knollenberg raised a total of   $400,171.00 with $112,500.00 from PACs.  Knollenberg has total cash on hand of $1,336,212.77.  Now former candidate Nancy Skinner raised $14,178.87 and has $13,680.48 cash on hand.  (Source:  FEC Campaign Reports)

CD-01
Congressman Bart Stupak raised a total of $109,292.14 with a total cash on hand of $451,522.03.  Tom Casperson raised $5,481.57 with a total cash on hand of $29,661.62.  (Source:  FEC Campaign Reports)

There's more below the fold...

This isn't about the contest against Stupak. (4.00 / 2)
I think that Casperson's campaign against Stupak now is less about him actually trying to get Bart's seat than it is to try and position him to run for Mike Prusi's STATE SENATE seat in 2010.

Prusi will be term-limited out of his senate seat - the Democrats in the Western U.P. don't have anyone in position to take it, if you ask me.

Republicans taking that seat in 2010 could be a big part of their plan to take the senate back.

Casperson can use this race to build name-recognition and a relationship with voters in the west end of the U.P. He's already getting a lot of sympathetic press.

Knollenberg's cash (0.00 / 0)
I couldn't access that link. How much of Knollenberg's cash  was raised since Jan? Was is all $400,171.00 or was some of that carryover from last year?

What would Eleanor Roosevelt do?

Made some changes.... (4.00 / 1)

*  I changed the links so you can just pull your own version of the report.

*  All of Knollenberg's $$$ ($400K) was raised between January - March 2008.

Do stupid people know they are stupid?

Such a change from '06... (3.50 / 8)
It's great that we have two competitive Congressional races this year.

The national attention Schauer and Peters are attracting will be a welcome change of pace...but volunteers and a strong ground game will be the difference between victory and the status quo.

It's ALL about the 2010 Census, and who will drive the Redistricting in 2011. If we want a repeat of 2001, go ahead and keep sniping at each other.

Peters Final Report (4.00 / 2)
Our final report has Peters for Congress over $348k on the quarter, $729k on the cycle, with $645k cash on hand.
