Parties

One of the biggest reasons many people come to this gathering of Democrats that occurs only once every four years is to party. There is heavy emphasis on the "party" in the Democratic Party.

Monday night I went to a party hosted by some Michigan politicians, and this is what it was like,

I left the party with the Anita Ekberg look-alike and folowed her in all her busty blond babeness through the streets of Denver until we came across a fountain with a large pool that looks like this during the day,

but suspiciously like Rome’s Trevi Fountain at night,

We took off our shoes and waded in and, as I was about to kiss her, the fountain turned off and my night came to an end...shhh, don’t tell my wife. ;)

Just kidding.

Actually, Monday night was the party dubbed, “Chillin’ with Dillon and Rockin’ with Tobocman.” I had a chance to meet the Speaker and chat with him a bit. I also met, for the first time, my own State Senator, Gretchen Whitmer.

Last night, I attended “Late Night with the Michigan Delegation,” hosted by Governor Granholm. Liberal Lucy was there and introduced me to the Governer. And, as Liberal Lucy as my witness can attest, the Guv grabbed my face  with both of her hands. I was so stunned that the exact words of what she said escaped me, something reassuring me that my face is worthy of more than just blogging. A reference I think to my post the night before night about me having a face for blogging and radio.

Here’s the Bobble Obama having a drink at the Guv’s party.

I’d say a good time was had by all both nights, including me.

Yay Rich! (4.00 / 2)
Now you know why, even though she has her foibles, Jennifer Granholm is my favorite politician EVER.

Sounds like someone else has a crush on the Guv (4.00 / 3)
Or maybe she has a crush on you??

And I'm impressed with how you managed to work in a Fellini reference into a post. Maybe in a future post you can reference Orson Welles ("Brazil" would be most appropriate for the Republican National Convention).

Sorry I missed you (4.00 / 2)
at the Tavern Uptown last night. I too caught up Liberal Lucy, and several other bloggers there. Good times!

Darnit (4.00 / 2)
Sorry I missed you, too.

Good times had by all (4.00 / 3)
It was great seeing so many bloggers there with Michigan notables. It goes without saying what a huge fan of the blogs the Lady Gov is, and we thank her for all of her wonderful hospitality.

I want to change the world, not help people adjust to it. - Millie Jeffrey, MI - National Women's labor and Democratic activist, Presidential Medal of Freedom Recipient

There are places where I totally disagree with her, but (0.00 / 0)
nobody can say her heart isn't in the right place.  She deservers an A for effort.  I just wish I could really clue her in.
