What a bizarre news week it's been...but it's time for some good news. Within the last couple weeks we've been hearing grumblings from the RenCen that GM was considering three sites for the manufacture of a new subcompact car (Janesville, WI, Spring Hill, TN and Orion Twp., MI). It was recently announced that manufacture of the Saturn Outlook will be moving from Spring Hill, TN to the GM Delta Twp. plant outside Lansing, and the AP is reporting more good news for the Mitten.
DETROIT (AP) - A person briefed on the decision says General Motors will build its new subcompact car at a factory in Orion Township, Mich.
The person says the automaker is scheduled to announce the move Friday. The person did not want to be identified because the plan has not been made public. |
