From the Detroit News:

Gladwin, Mich. -- The military says a 28-year-old soldier from Michigan has died in Iraq.
The Department of Defense said Tuesday that Sgt. Timothy A. David of Gladwin died Sunday in Baghdad of wounds suffered earlier in Sadr City, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.

David is the 170th serviceman with known Michigan ties to have died in the war in Iraq.
