I, for one, think it's going to be awfully difficult for Republicans to come across as credible preaching about personal responsibility any time soon (this is too good not to share: "Sanford has also given birth to a new euphemism for adultery — 'hiking the Appalachian trail' — the governor’s original explanation for his absence."). But, you know what would be nice? Someone who campaigns on the need for people to take responsibility for the common good rather than focusing on selfish motivations. |
