| At least he's not calling Obama an economic fascist: "If we start talking about freedom and personal control and personal opportunities to express opinions and choices, Republicans can be on the pathway to the same kind of success in 2010 that we enjoyed in 1994," Hoekstra said Tuesday.
I, for one, think it's going to be awfully difficult for Republicans to come across as credible preaching about personal responsibility any time soon (this is too good not to share: "Sanford has also given birth to a new euphemism for adultery — 'hiking the Appalachian trail' — the governor’s original explanation for his absence."). But, you know what would be nice? Someone who campaigns on the need for people to take responsibility for the common good rather than focusing on selfish motivations. |
