Pete Hoekstra Wants to Refuse New Jobs for Michiganders

Not in my neighborhood (0.00 / 0)

This is the same mentality that rejected a prison in Cheboygan county not so many years ago.  Instead of embracing employment opportunities for an otherwise destitute area of the state, the driving, provincial mentality was focused on 'those people' being in 'our area'.  
What does Pete think, the prisoners get out on weekend passes?  Or just that their terrorist relatives will be passing through as they visit their detainee loved ones?

These are the same people who shout, scream, and stamp their feet about the "job killing" prospects of cap-and-trade and/or health care reform, but when you offer them work like this, they suddenly get pretty picky.

...these are men, not superpowered mutants. They're not going to escape by teleporting out, pounding through the walls or transforming into water and slipping out via a convenient storm drain.

Putting aside whether they are actual terrorists or bystanders caught in sweeps or turned in by local rivals for a bounty, they're just men. And the new Standish facility is perfectly situated to handle them.

Pete "Job Killer" Hoekstra...has a nice ring to it.

Mike Rogers has joined in the Hoekstra hissy fit.  Perhaps both should be reminded that they don't represent Standish.  

Then again, they don't really represent the 2nd or the 8th, either.  And they've done doodly-squat for job creation in those districts.

At least they're consistent...
