Hmmmm.
Revenue sharing will see an 11.1 percent cut in the General Government conference report slated to be signed this morning, Chair John PAPPAGEORGE (R-Troy) said. The original cut of 13 percent won't be necessary thanks to reforms, he said.
Department of Community Health (DCH) conference committee Chair Roger KAHN (R-Saginaw) said that he has a deal on that conference report and he expects it to be signed today. The report will meet the revised target agreed upon by Senate Majority Leader Mike BISHOP (R-Rochester) and House Speaker Andy DILLON (D-Redford Twp.) of a $160 million cut, down from $235 million. Kahn said that was negotiated on Friday. The biggest chunk -- about $100 million -- comes from an 8 percent provider cut.
Department of Human Services (DHS) conference committee Chair Bill HARDIMAN (R-Kentwood) said that there is a deal on that report. However, he continues to work with Rep. Lee GONZALES (D-Flint) on the Department of Transportation (MDOT) budget to resolve the Detroit River International Crossing (DRIC) issue about a new bridge span connecting Detroit with Windsor, Ontario.
Well, as long as they're only cutting mental health service provider funding, I guess it's not so bad.
