| See these two men?
They’re the ones responsible for the chaos unfolding at the Capitol. This is the second time in three years that our state has been thrown into chaos thanks to their leadership on our state's budget. Don’t let those who like to go on about the True Bromance between Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop (R-Rochester) and Speaker of the House Andy Dillon (D-Redford) fool you. If these two men knew what they were doing, we wouldn’t be at the point of shutting down the government right now. Feel free to caption this photo however you want in the comments. |
Earlier, Jack Lessenberry was speculating whether Governor Granholm is clinically depressed. Really? Is there any doubt? I don’t know about you, but I don’t have to work with the True Bromance Boys and the situation has me not just depressed, but frustrated and angry. Wouldn’t you (at the very least) be depressed if you had to sit around and wait for Dillon and Bishop to get their acts together this year, hammer out a deal palatable to both the House and Senate, write the budget legislation, and put it on your desk to sign, only to have it all turned into shit on the last day of the Fiscal Year?
For all the pissing and moaning about the Governor supposedly being MIA or irrelevant...uhm, in case somebody forgot, it’s the legislature that’s supposed to write legislation and pass it. The Governor can make recommendations and give guidance, but she is not a legislator. As a co-worker once told me, “shit flows downhill.” And we’re all downhill of this budget whenever it gets approved.
I’ll leave you now to watch the legislators stand around doing a whole lot of nothing on HouseTV. P.S. You can thank the Freep for the photo; it was taken during the Detroit Economic Club breakfast. |
