| Thaddeus McCotter, retaking the soul of America, 140 characters at a time. In less than a year, the American people will express their opposition to a Dem Congress that has become too costly, too crazy, too quickly.
I wonder if he and Nolan Finley get their talking points on a group rate: But her members aren't so cocky. Reports circulated last week that a half-dozen Democratic representatives from swing districts are considering retiring rather than explain to voters why they helped push the country so far to the left.
One it tempted to ask just where the nation has been pushed "to the left." We still have two ground wars, no climate legislation, no accountability following the massive handover of government money to wealthy Wall Street banksters, trade policy that still favors outsourcing labor while shaking down the poor and middle classes for upward wealth redistribution, and health care reform that alternates between a shouting match over abortion and being so badly watered down as to provide benefits that will be scarcely noticeable to really anyone who needs it. Barack Obama has turned out to be a the centrist corporatist kleptocrat he gave every indication that he probably was before his campaign trail transformation into the Last Progressive Man in government. Still, comrades, take heart ... today, America is a Socialist Workers Paradise! McCotter tweets on this theme some more, warning darkly about government takeover of health care through a health care bill crafted through the diligence of hundreds of high-paid health care lobbyists who spent millions. The Communists apparently come with bigger checkbooks than I'd always imagined. Update! ... It strikes me, looking about a bit on these here Internets early this afternoon, that the Socialists in the Senate have done more than merely push the country uncomfortably to the Left. They are now actively working to sabotage the very means of their own bloodless revolution, the health care bill. In such a way could those insidious Democrats have both things -- a country perilously close to falling under the permanent stifling blanket of Marx while providing no discernable health care benefits to the very working man who could yet undo such treachery. Things are unfolding exactly by design. |
