| I'm kind of disappointed that Ken Sikkema's not running to replace Vern Ehlers. Back in the day, he could have made a credible case in carrying on Ehlers' legacy of working on behalf of the environment. That is, a long time ago before he decided that the problem with environmental issues are environmentalists. Who knows, maybe he would have moderated himself back in the gentlemanly fold of Washington. I realize that Terri Lynn Land has said she's running for lieutenant governor, but I wonder how long before she deserts Good Ship Bouchard for a race she has a good chance of winning. I'm also holding in my hot little hands a press release that says that 10th District Chairman Henry Yanez of Sterling Heights will challenge Candice Miller in the 10th District. Finally, in the 9th District, I'm told that perennial candidate Andrew "Rocky" Raczkowski will make some kind of announcement on Monday. At least, that's what the thing from his campaign with CONFIDENTIAL in the subject line said. It may have something to do with charges that he violated campaign finance law, but it doesn't have the feel of a "I'm a-gittin' out and endorsing my very good friend Paul Welday" feel to it (especially since the campaign finance violation complaint was filed by someone in the Welday camp). |
