Latest Two Joes: Someone should challenge Stupak

by: Eric B.

Wed Mar 10, 2010 at 13:27:22 PM EST

On the latest Two Joes podcast, Joe DiSano makes a prediction: Someone might challenge Bart Stupak in the primary over Stupak's abortion politics. Most of us, by now, are aware that such a thing happened earlier this week.  Well, in DiSano's defense, he made his prediction before that happened. How do I know? I'm on in the first segment of the show, talking a bit about Joe Schwarz and the gubernatorial race.

Too much on my plate these last few days to post the show. It was recorded on Friday, March 5th.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Listen to "Two Guys Named Joe - The DiSano and Munem report" - the most listened to political podcast in the State of Michigan.

Not a biggie... (0.00 / 0)
It actually makes his comments look more astute.  DiSano said it Friday. It happened three days later, and then the prediction isn't made public for another two days.  That means you can rule out the candidacy as a product of being egged on by the show's content, and focus on the predictive nature of his comments.

Some folks are suggesting (0.00 / 0)
that the changes Stupak are pushing for would preclude any person receiving federal money of any kind would even preclude them from buying private insurance to cover abortion services.

So if you get financial aid, young female college student, or food stamps, poor female woman, or a federal contract owner of a business...you are SOL.

If true, Stupak is morally reprehensible individual and needs to go.

I see Rachel Madow is going after Stupak and raising some very interesting questions about who has paid his room rent all these many years. She also points out his anti-abortion ploys can't be included in health care legislation under the reconciliation process.

It looks like Michael Moore is taking up the cause also. Maybe there is hope for rational representation in D.C. come November.
