MEA gives Bernero an A+

by: ScottyUrb

Sat May 29, 2010 at 03:03:44 AM EDT

Or, if not a letter grade, then at least an endorsement:

The Michigan Education Association has endorsed Democrat Virg Bernero for governor, giving the Lansing mayor another major labor boost.

The MEA, the state’s largest teachers union, represents 155,000 school employees and retirees.

“We have a long history of making sure our members make it to the polls – teachers and other employees are a big bloc of voters in this state,” said MEA spokesman Doug Pratt.

Now, I'm still not forgiving Mrs. Powers for not giving me a sucker for good behavior at recess. Nor is Mr. Baerren off the hook for flunking me in social studies because I used the term Michiganian instead of Michigander.

But this doesn't hurt my views of their profession!

(FYI: I did not actually have teachers named Mr. Baerren or Mrs. Powers. Nor did anyone wrongfully deny me a sucker or flunk me over my word choice. But you knew that, right?)

He should've flunked you.
I don't care what the Constitution says. It's MICHIGANDER, dammit, not Michiganian.

Despite Stormy's whining, we are Michiganians.  If I liked geese, I'd eat foie gras.

And Scotty, dearest, my MOTHER is Mrs. Powers... I'm Ms. Powers (Her Royal Bitchiness to Brady).  :)

Do stupid people know they are stupid?

I have only one thing to say to you, m'dear...

This is excellent news
for Andy Dillon.

And more evidence of Virg Bernero's problems with organized labor
