| Magic Frank apparently didn't get the latest memo. As a result, no logical observer could claim that floor leader Stamas took the action because Brown and Byrum are females. Rightly or wrongly, he gaveled the pair because Brown made a comment that was perceived to equate the bills with rape and because Byrum muttered some comments on her way back to her desk after she was unable to promote an amendment to include oversight of vasectomies to the legislation being considered.
Pssst, Magic Frank, the bit about rape is so last week. This week, the story is that they were gaveled into silence because they threw temper tantrums. You'd be forgiven if you don't want to read the entire thing, because it is terribly written, poorly thought out and generally everything awful you'd expect from a Magic Frank column, but you'll miss the part where he says that the women's rights movement was set back decades by Monday night's presentation on the steps of the Capitol. In other words, uppity women can expect no sugar from Magic Frank. No sugar at all. |
