| The third fund-raising e-mail sent out by Trevor Thomas' campaign this weekend that seeks to mislead Democratic voters into donating money based on the results of a poll that mislead Democratic voters on his opponent's positions. From Ye Olde Inbox: As we talked just before the meeting, Trevor said he hoped we would not be down by too much... or maybe that we'd be up by a couple of points. These results - with Trevor up by 22 points once our message is out there - are far better than we imagined. But those numbers only become real if you - and others - give now. ...
The results aren't at all better than what Trevor imagined. In fact, since his own poll shows him down as things now stand, they're exactly what his imagined. And, then he turned around and attempted to peddle this figment of his campaign's imagination as reality to potential donors while asking them for money. I don't know what moves the needle in that part of the state, but telling untruths to people while trying to convince them to open their wallets to your campaign doesn't strike me as the sort of strategy likely to be a winning one in the long term. |
