The crime being perpetrated right now on future generations, and for which there will be no way for those who live through them, really just breaks the heart.

By the way, one political party has as one of its central policy planks denial that any of this is taking place. It would probably be more helpful if editorial pages that felt the need to point out the reality of the situation would point that out in clear, stark terms.
