| This was from the other day. I document it here just for the sake of posterity. GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Secretary of State Ruth Johnson says she is investigating complaints of election fraud against House Speaker Jase Bolger and state Rep. Roy Schmidt over a scheme to send up a “fake” Democrat candidate to run against Schmidt after he switched parties.
I don't care if she gives this the old eyewash treatment. As long as the focus is on genuine election fraud schemes run out of Lansing, there'll be no air left in the room to discuss fictitious voter fraud. And, once this investigation ends, it'll be damn near impossible for the Legislature to talk about fictitious voter fraud without someone saying, "Hey, the Kent County prosecutor -- one of your own -- pointed out a very real loophole exploiting in very real ways in need of closing ... look to your own house first, assholes." Also, the longer this thing stays in the headlines, the greater the chance that Bolger will get demoted from House speakers by voters who return control of the House to the opposition party. |
