| In today's Battle Creek Enquirer: It is about the question: is the Republican Party, in its present state, fit to govern our country?
No. It is not. People tend to read stuff on this website and assume that if it's anti-Republican that it is pro-Democrat. That is not the case. It is anti-Republican because the Republican Party has tilted so far to the Right and has embraced positions of such extremism and has placed such a higher value on dogmatic ideology that it has rejected fact-based arguments, that it is entirely a criticism of the Republican Party. If you are a thinking person, you have no business voting for any Republican above maybe the county level. Even those who you can respect for their personal loyalty to intelligent policy making have to answer to a party base that if enraged -- an act as simple at the federal level as in supporting federal light bulb efficiency standards sought by manufacturers -- will seek to have your public career destroyed. Unfortunately, the alternative is the Democratic Party, which is inept at making a case for the continuation of its own existence. |
