| Foot, meet balls. Michigan Republicans have made things tougher for likely Democratic voters based on their pretense of “preventing” election fraud. They just haven’t been very tough on it for themselves. That would take integrity.
For all the talk about a broken citizens' initative process and how there are too many questions on the ballot and how none of them really belong where they're going, there has been next to no consideration that all of that is happening because the political process is broken. That, people are going to extraordinary lengths because they've lost faith in the political process or our political leaders. We've got Bolgergate, and we've got an attorney general who is more interested in solving political fights in the courts, and we've got a secretary of state who is more interested in chasing phantoms with illegal check-off boxes than she is in preventing genuine election fraud. You can yell and shout until the cows cme home about how this or that is not an appropriate way to solve this or that problem. Until you're willing to consider that the most appropriate way to address those things is shut off by corruption, however, you're just making noise. |
