| Has there been a campaign of any kind in modern Michigan politics so completely disloyal to facts than the one of Proposal 6? I mean, Proposal 5 is a really, really stupid idea, but mostly what people are promoting it on are the wheezy, lazy ideas that the state's political elite are showing great disdain for the electorate in considering a bunch of different tax schemes. That's terrible argumentation and completely overlooks the need for revenue and the need to modernize where Michigan collects it, but it's at least got a kernel of truth to it. Not so for Proposal 6. Overall impression: The mailer is designed to instill fear in parents that the bridge somehow is harming public education, regardless of the facts on the ground. This throw things up and hope something sticks approach has characterized the pro-Prop 6 campaign from the beginning.
