Santa Claus takes a gratuitous shot at Thad McCotter

by: Eric B.

If you follow this link for no other reason than the picture, it's worth the time investment. If you get down in the story, you're rewarded with this comment directed towards the people already lining up to run against Santa Claus.

"At first I was a little disappointed to hear that here I haven't even been sworn in yet and they are already lining up to run against me," Bentivolio said. "On the other hand it keeps me on my toes, but I have some advice: Make sure they get all their signatures on their petitions."

Heeee-YAH!

Well at least Kerry is talking to the media (4.00 / 2)
He seemed to avoid them like the plague during the campaign.

I'd like to know that list of Repubs lining up to challenge him.  I've heard Mike Kowall (his vote on RTW was an indication he might be protecting his right flank for future primaries), Patrick Colbeck, David Trott (although he lives outside the 11th), Paul Welday or maybe Nancy Cassis.  The only hope for getting rid of Krazy Kerry is that the repubs line up behind one primary challenger as a crowded field only benefits Krazy Kerry.

On the Dem side our best candidate is Dave Curson but he'd have to move into Livonia and it's not clear he wants to run.  No matter who runs the 11th is still 2 or 3 cycles away from being competitive for us.  Although if the stars aligned in 2014 Curson would be the best bet.  As it stands, the 11th was drawn to yield a GOP seat and it did.  For all the talk about Dr. Taj and his accent and religion it really came down to base numbers (in the overlap parts of the 11th Taj actually got more votes than Curson... when you replace Wayne and Belleville with Troy and Clawson you get a Repub seat). I do see the demographics of the district changing but that change will be slow.  However, there's a lot of party building and down ballot seats that can be won in the 11th before 2018.
