| Got an e-mail last night from one of this site's best friends alerting me to the endorsment of Lon Johnson by a bunch of elected officials. They are as follows: From Macomb County: Mark Hackel, County Executive; Anthony Marrocco, Public Works Commissioner; Eric Smith, Prosecutor; Anthony Wickersham, Sheriff. (Update! ... An e-mail from the Johnson folks say that county clerk Camille Sabaugh and county treasurer Ted Wahby have now endorsed their guy) And non-Macomb County officials: Marilyn Lane, State Representative; Harold Haugh, State Representative; Jim Fouts, Mayor of Warren; Richard Notte, Mayor of Sterling Heights; Suzanne Pixley, Mayor of Eastpointe
(Editor's note: the non-Macomb County officials thing is intended to separate people elected to Macomb County office from local and state officials, not to say that the mayor of Warren is not a Macomb person.) He also yesterday picked up the endorsement of the United Steel Workers. In the interests of fairness, four days ago, I got an endorsement email on behalf of the Brewer folks that announced that the laborers union is endorsing him, as well as the following local chairs/notable figures: District Chairs 11th Congressional District – Carol Larkin County Chairs Cheboygan – Leonard Page Marquette – Ben Bohnsack Menominee – Mari Negro Muskegon – Robert Carter St. Clair – Patty Ries Caucus Chairs Bangladeshi American Democratic Caucus – Nazmul Hassan LGBT and Allies Caucus – Phil Volk Michigan Muslim Democratic Caucus – Shahid Tahir Indo-American Caucus – Mahendra Kenkre Pakistani American Caucus – Faiz Khan Progressive Caucus – Steve Pontoni Club Chairs ClintonTwp. Democratic Club – Judith Strong Garden City Democratic Club – James Larkin North Oakland Democratic Club – Phil Reid North Macomb Democratic Club – Gary Cynowa Phil Hart Democratic Club – Darlene Kaltz Rochester Area Democratic Club – Sigrid Grace South Berrien County Democratic Club – Jeanie Arbanas
You all know that I personally regard an endorsement as mostly worthless, excepting that the person making it has a political machine to deliver votes (see, "Pope, How many divisions he he have?" Anyway, have at it in comments. |
