| Idiot. WASHINGTON D.C. (WTVB) - Legislation reauthorizing the federal Violence Against Women Act is on its way to the White House after passage Thursday in the House. More than 135 Republicans voted no, but Tim Walberg, Branch County’s G-O-P Representative on the Hill, wasn’t one of them. After his yes vote yesterday, Walberg said as a husband, father of a daughter and grandfather of a granddaughter, he is strongly committed to ensuring that all women have access to resources they need to protect themselves, their children and their families.
As Progress Michigan noted earlier today, this simply isn't true. You can go to the roll call vote, or you can just go to Walberg's own House website to find this out. But, congratulations to the radio station that reported this for fact checking Walberg's vote before allowing him to misrepresent it to the public. |
