Today in Conservative Hypocrisy

Where is the right-wing's outrage over the compromised personal information of nearly half a million Americans, including about 8,500 in Michigan, by JPMorgan Chase for users of their Unemployment Insurance debit cards? After hearing all of the critism of healtcare.gov's information security issues, I'm sure they will go after Chase for actually allowing it to happen. Or not.

Oh, that's right, these are 'takers' getting unemployment benefits to sit at home (sarcasm), so they don't matter to Conservatives.

Well.. (0.00 / 0)
We DID say something a year ago.

And were calling it out recently.

Of course if we did away with all the need for such mechanisms, ..oh you wouldn't want that either?

Not really the same thing, but... (0.00 / 0)
Your post from a year ago was about banks skimming money off of debit card transactions (government outsourcing) and lobbyists getting a return on their investment (campaign finance). We probably are in general agreement that those things are problems that need to be addressed, but I was talking about information security and all of the recent attention regarding 'potential' information security risks on the healthcare.gov site and the lack thereof on personal information that was likely compromised by Chase.

Whenever the issues of unemployment, food stamps and any other form of government safety net assistance come up, I hear conservatives arguing that the people who receive the assistance should 'get a job'. Meanwhile, there are at least 3 unemployed people for every job opening, but they should get a job. Then you have people like Rand Paul saying that we do the unemployed a disservice by giving them money to avoid starving or being thrown out of their home.

If you want to take JP Morgan and all the major banks down American style, by which I mean legal and peacefully, join the bipartisan movement that includes Walter Jones and Elizabeth Warren, among others, and push now for the re-implementation Of Glass-Steagall, a bill that would separate banking interests from their gambling interests.

Glass-Steagall is a one page bill that would immediately take down JP Morgan Goldman Sachs, Bank of America and the federal reserve because all these institution are bankrupt already. They are basically zombie banks and they survive only as parasites on the American people.

So you want to take on the banks and save America? The time is now. Pass Glass-Steagall.

Both the Democrats and the Republicans have been turned into zombie parties by ideologues that shout about things only a small fraction of populace cares about. Each side has their particular fringe interests. meanwhile, the American economy is imploding. By passing glass-steagall you may not only save the country but your moribund parties too.

America either revives its industrial base or it dies. There is no future for people in a post industrial America.
