Did Goat Killer not return Betsy DeVos' calls because he was killing goats?

by: Eric B.

Tue Jan 21, 2014 at 10:57:57 AM EST

The other day, the News ran that column about how Betsy DeVos thinks that Goat Killer needs to go. In it, she said she tried to call him, but he never picked up and didn't return her calls. We get a possible explanation yet again from Facebook.

This was the exact same excuse he gave for why he was in Siberia killing goats* during the budget fight of 2007 (this was probably the most significant vote he would have taken during his tenure in the House, by the way, and he missed it because he refused to alter vacation plans ... and what does that tell you about the guy's work ethic?). It's also the same excuse he gave last year for his first bigoted anti-gay Facebook tirade.

The story of this has shifted of course. It's now not just about Goat Killer, but about his post as RNC national committee man and as a public ambassador for the Republican Party. It also exposes the utter craven-ness of our governor.

“I appreciate Betsy DeVos speaking up,” Snyder told reporters. “Let’s have a discussion on this and hopefully see much less of the negative and derogatory speech happening in our state. It should go away totally would be the best answer.”

We are already having a discussion on this, sir, and your relentless positive bullshit ain't cutting it.

Shouldn't someone be in charge of where he was and what he was shooting at while he was there? Just a thought...

Agema doesn't understand the Law of Holes
Which states, "when you find yourself in a hole, stop digging."

A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always count on the support of Paul.

It's like the rightwing take on any laws
It is what he imagines it is, just as the First Amendment gives him the right to post whatever he likes to Facebook without being criticized like that what we need in this country is a law allowing the police to jail political activists behind things he personally doesn't like.

I used to present awards for kooky online behavior
The idea that "the First Amendment gives him the right to post whatever he likes to Facebook without being criticized" was a common one among kooky people.  Looks like our state's experiment with the Dunning-Kruger effect is having the same result in real life as it did online.

Greetings from Detroit, Ground Zero of the post-industrial future!
