I guess this means Whitmer's not running for AG

Looks like you Dems are all coelscing around Mark Totten as candidate for attorney general.

LANSING — Today Senate Democratic Leader Gretchen Whitmer announced her endorsement of Mark Totten as Michigan’s next Attorney General.  This announcement accelerates weeks of momentum for the Totten campaign, including the support of over 80 local parties and chairs, multiple labor organizations, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, and a recent poll showing Totten in a dead heat with Bill Schuette.

Submitted without comment.

I love your headline.
You clever chap, you.

Great Lakes, Great Times.

The prospect of writing the predictable "Whitmer endorses Totten for AG" bored the holy living shit out of me

Found out last Saturday that Godfrey Dillard once represented...Manuel "Matty" Moroun
Right up to that point I thought he was a solid contender, despite the late start and Totten's impressive lineup of endorsements, given how the MDP has "handled" contentious AG and SoS contests at past conventions.

But the audience of more than 100 committed Dems at the 11th District meeting turned downright chilly when Dillard was hit with the Moroun question...and his response quickly devolved into a literal declaration that he's "unbought and unbossed" (which is usually code for the exact opposite).

Now I'll bet he wishes he'd announced for Supreme Court.

Missed the meeting, thanks for the update
I'm glad the 11th District Dems let Dillard know what they they thought of his having represented Moroun.

A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always count on the support of Paul.

Leyton and Williams
For all my qualms about Brewer, the 2006 and 2010 AG nods weren't really the MDP's doing.

Williams and Leyton each got the endorsement of the UAW, whose delegates were enough to push them over the top. Before the conventions, however, they had already garnered some support - albeit not quite as much as Bowen and Bernstein. Bowen's views on choice also hurt him.

This time will likely be different. Everyone who has endorsed so far, has endorsed Totten - including a number of unions. I'd be stunned if the UAW went against them. Either they hop on the Totten Train or they remain neutral (which is unlikely, IMHO).

As for Moroun... good for you guys!
