The fake eyepatch gag would have been a hell of a lot funnier

This is great.

Grenawalt, in three emails sent on May 27 and June 24, described himself as a Brown University student back in Michigan for the summer. "I have a lot of interest and passion in politics, and would like to volunteer or show support for Mark Schauer and Lisa Brown," the latest email said.

The Schauer campaign quickly discovered Grenawalt's social accounts, which indicated that he worked for Snyder. His Facebook and LinkedIn pages have since been updated to remove the references, and a phone call to a Grenawalt residence in East Lansing was not answered.

I don't how common it is that campaigns try to infiltrate each other. I imagine it depends on how paranoid the candidate him- or herself are. That's not the most outrageous thing here. The most outrageous thing here is how incompetent this guy was as disgusing himself. It speaks to the need for a better class of dirty trickster. I mean, I take the Snyder people at their word that he didn't do this under their direction, give them credit for being smarter than not telling him to clean up his online profile, but this was carried out so ineptly that even if it gets exposed that you just simply can't take any credit for it.

Update! ... Linky love. The above reaction cited there. Please go read.
