Biography:
POLITICAL
State Representative Kevin Elsenheimer was elected in November 2004 to
his first term in the Michigan House to represent residents of Antrim,
Charlevoix, Otsego and most of Cheboygan counties.
Elsenheimer served as Antrim County Republican Party chair for many
years and is still an active member of the local party. He also served
on the Bellaire Public Schools Board of Education for a
term-and-a-half, from 1998 to 2004. He was re-elected to the seat in
2002, but stepped down to run for the state Legislature.
EDUCATION
Elsenheimer graduated from Traverse City Central High School and then
attended Northwestern Michigan College, where he received an Associate
of Arts degree. He then earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan
State University in 1987 studying Psychology, History and Philosophy.
Elsenheimer continued his education at Wayne State University Law
School where he obtained his law degree. While in law school, Kevin
served as a Student Attorney for Legal Services of Northern Michigan
and Lakeshore Legal Services. He was also a founding member of the
Wayne State University Environmental Law Society.
PROFESSIONAL
Elsenheimer served as assistant prosecuting attorney for Antrim County,
where he handled a variety of criminal and civil cases. He then formed
his own law firm with two former Antrim County prosecuting attorneys,
Young, Graham, & Elsenheimer, PC. The company currently employs six
attorneys and an office staff of three to focus on the representation
of municipal government units throughout Michigan. He is a member of
the State Bar of Michigan.
PERSONAL
Elsenheimer, born Aug. 21, 1965, was raised in Northern Michigan. He
and his wife Ann live in Bellaire with their three children -- Emma,
Noah and Jacob. He and his family attend St. Luke’s Catholic Church in
Bellaire. A member of the NRA and MCRGO, he is an avid sportsman and
enjoys outdoor recreational activities and time spent with his family. (Republican Caucus) |
