GM hires Sean Hannity

by: matt

Mon Oct 02, 2006 at 00:14:09 AM EDT

I know they're our state's largest private employer but...(from Mediaweek):
To stimulate consumer interest in its line of American-built cars, General Motors has turned to radio and Sean Hannity. Beginning Sept. 25, Hannity will serve as the spokesperson for GM’s You’re A Great American Car Give-Away, offering radio listeners the chance to pick and win one of five GM vehicles.

One of the largest car give-aways by an auto manufacturer, “it is the largest car give-away in history by a national radio personality,” said Phil Boyce, vp of News/Talk programming for ABC Radio.
BTW, recall that only a couple of months ago Ford's bought an ad right here at good old Michlib.

Hmmmm (0.00 / 0)
I hate the fucker, but if he can convince some right-wing jackasses to buy GM, I'm for it.  I could see the slogan now:

GM: Anything else might as well be French!:)

GM's Bob Lutz gave $$$ to the Amway Man (4.00 / 1)
So did William Clay Ford, the owner of the 0-4 Detroit "Lions".

A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always count on the support of Paul.

What is it gwith fCick and losing teams? (4.00 / 1)
First there was the Magic, then he cursed the Tigers. And now I see that the owner of the loser Lions also supports him!

Hopefully his campaign for governor will also be a losing team.

He also put the hex on the MSU Spartans (4.00 / 1)
Mr. Pyramid turned up at the Notre Dame-Michigan State game, and the Spartans responded with a collapse of epic proportions. Yesterday, State found a way to lose to the Blighted Illini. George Perles ought to make an issue of this hex.

Have you seen the commercials (0.00 / 0)
Wierd to say the least.

They seem to focus on tragic moments in American history (I guess they are trying to show how we over come adversity) and then throw their truck in the frame.

It looks like something the freepers would masturbate too...all they need is a 40 Bush wrecking havoc on the unbelievers...

Figures... (4.00 / 1)
I have been a loyal GM buyer for over 35 years.(Buick's for the last 12 years)  What did that get me?  Nothing but repairs. Silly stoopid repairs.  Like the Key-Style security system. $900.00 to get fix because my car would not start anymore until it was fixed.  GM would not pay for it.

Let Hannity use "Patriotism" to sell cars.  Even though patriotism has nothing to do with it.  When GM starts meeting my needs over their greeds then maybe I will purchase a car from them again.  Until then I am truly enjoying my well built Toyota 07 Camry.

I will vote with my dollars.  Let Free Enterprise decide what is worth purchasing.  Simply buying a American Car company's car (I can't say American made since they are built mostly elsewhere) for the sake of supporting America does nothing for the consumer.  It will support GM,Ford, Chrysler in sticking with their shoddy built vehicles.  The only reason we have seen an increase in better interiors (and fair to say somewhat better made vehicles..not enough though) from GM is because the Japanse have force them too.  The Japanse & Europeans have raised the bar. For example: Why do I have to pay extra for side curtain air bags on a GM product?  Why do they still use 4-speed transmissions when the competition is using 5-6 speeds?

For the last 30 years GM has simply built vehicles "thinking" that we will just buy anything they give us.  The scofed and laughed at the Japanse.  Well the joke is on GM now.  While they went on a SUV/Truck "Drunk" for over 10 years instead of developing vehicles that can save fuel...they kept building bigger SUVs and Trucks.  The Japanse have built better cars overall that save fuel.  Not only save fuel, they save us from silly stoopid repairs...

Benjamin Franklin: "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." I WANT MY HABEAS CORPUS BACK!!
