Thankful for snow (4.00 / 1)
...at the current rate, I was beginning to think that I lived in Florida (ugh).

My favorite days of the year? The days when you walk outside and it's so cold it takes your breath away. It really reminds you how alive you are!

I want to change the world, not help people adjust to it. - Millie Jeffrey, MI - National Women's labor and Democratic activist, Presidential Medal of Freedom Recipient

Movie recommendation for MLK Day (4.00 / 1)
Spike Lee's "Get on the Bus," in which a group of men from L.A. on their way to the Million Man March in Washington talk about race, justice, and morality. Uplifting and well-written; two hours well spent.

A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always count on the support of Paul.

Happy MLK Day to you too! (4.00 / 4)
It's interesting to see the look on my 7 years old Daughter's face when I tell her that once upon a time people like me couldn't marry people like her Daddy.  It's not easy trying to explain the insanity of prejudice.

Missed you last month Mr. "Funny" DB.  Hope you had a safe and wonderful holiday.

Second Detroit Bridge (4.00 / 1)
Does anyone know anything about a second bridge to Canada being built in Detroit?

Success is not final, failure is not fatal. - Winston Churchill

a bit (4.00 / 1)
There's a big debate over whether another bridge should be built or not, where it should be built, and who the bridge should be built and administrated by.

The rumor is... (4.00 / 1)
That it will be off of Windsor's E.C. Row Expressway which would have it crossing the Detroit River in an East-West fashion just south of Zug Island (the Ambassador is N-S for reference) where it would somehow connect with I-75 in short order. It seems though there is opposition to it Downriver, and sides are far from making it a reality.

check out my blog!

Love this MLK quote (4.00 / 1)
This is my favorite ...

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
