Dude's running for governor

I repeat ... dude's running for governor:

Responsible federal officials will wait to get a more detailed picture before popping off in the media, making reckless accusations. Rep. Peter Hoekstra (R) of Michigan, inexplicably the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, has not yet been briefed on yesterday's incident, but that hasn't stopped him from trying to exploit the Abdulmutallab matter to score some cheap partisan points.

Have I mentioned that dude's running for governor?

Administration says attempted terrorist attack. No. It was a terrorist attack! Just not as successful as they (AQ) planned.

In case you're still scratching your head about why people feel that John Cherry has a legitimate chance at winning next year, I give you Pistol Pete ... shooting off his mouth yet again. He apparently thinks he can build good statewide name recognition by using the same kind of fear mongering that worked so well in 2002, but hasn't proven capable of making more than a scintilla's dent in polling since.  He's made himself more popular with wingnuts and various other participants in the GOP polls, but in doing so has put together what most people would consider a string of embarrassing gaffes and blunders ... from tweeting information about secret trips to Iraq to helping to kill a prison proposal supported by the city of Standish and opposed by the paranoid rightwing fringe to this ... trying to politicize an attempted attack the day after Christmas (and doing so in a way that makes him look so paranoid and trigger happy that he'd consider unkind words the same thing as a physical assault).  The fact that he isn't running in Rick Michigan polling territory should give Democrats sincere hope that all is not necessarily lost for next year.
