| You, dear readers, may wonder why I spend so much time on the writings of Henry Payne. While it's certainly true that his paranoia-fueled crayon-written screeds are a joy to digest, it's also true that he is probably the true candle holders in the state of Michigan for rightwing intellectual thought. Nolan Finley may be the king of the Detroit News editorial page, but Payne dances between the News, his own museum of half-formed thoughts, and that other collection of unemployables known as the Mackinac Center (I remember seeing something about him doing work for them, but remember him chiefly as one of their "experts" on the communist plot called climate change when the Mackinac Center launched its global warming road show a few years back). And, there's this. "Democrats viewed the measures as an attempt to suppress voter turnout, especially among minority and urban populations," parroted the Detroit Free Press on Page A1 Wednesday.
This, to Henry Payne, is a statement of editorial policy. Not on the part of the Democratic Party, but of the much-hated MSM. Merely reporting what policy position a Democratic/progressive/liberal orgnization has taken is proof-positive to Henry Payne that a media outlet is in on the con job. |
