| Perfect. Absolutely perfect. The Michigan package was vetoed by Gov. Rick Snyder. But that didn't stop Secretary of State Ruth Johnson from ordering that one of the provisions — a check box in which voters are asked if they are really a U.S. citizen — to be presented to all voters. Meanwhile, in the midst of this false show of concern, leading Republicans literally from one side of the state to the other were making a mockery of fair, honest and open elections. At best, they treated elections as a game to be manipulated. At worst, felonies were committed. Clearly, the participants — including a former member of Congress and the leading Republican in the House — showed incredible disdain for the electoral process.
And, yes, it was finally done without the silly, phony-baloney false equivalencies between Jase Bolger/Roy Schmidt and Oakland Dem's fake Tea Party scam. By the way, do have to note the Freep's editorial the other day that made a point about Thad McCotter's ongoing frauds that were immediately clear to anyone following the controversy over Michael Phelps, ads he appeared in, and the IOC. If Thad McCotter were an athlete who cheated, his statistics from at least the past four years would be erased from the record books. That kind of thing doesn't happen with fraudulent congressmen, unfortunately, but maybe it should.
I hate to ask, but were there any votes for stuff that passed Congress with a one-vote margin after any of those allegedly fraudulent elections and for which McCotter voted on the side for passage? If there were, doesn't that throw into legitimacy of those laws, since at least one of the votes came from someone who hadn't actually met the qualifications to take the oath of office in the first place? |
