| The Traverse City Record Eagle starts its Congressional endorsement thusly: Dan Benishek, an Upper Peninsula medical doctor and tea party favorite, has done virtually nothing to earn re-election to Michigan's 1st Congressional District. Boom! There's no messing around, no playing games pretending to be all high-and-mighty and disaffected by the thing. They get right to the meat, that Dan Benishek is a lousy Congressman who hasn't done shit for his constituents. By the way, they get high marks for the last sentence in this editorial in a local state House race. Schmidt has learned the business of Lansing, but lacks passion. Coffia has convictions to spare, but not enough experience. Neither one has earned an endorsement. I've said it before, I'll sa it again ... an endorsement needs to be earned or else it's worthless. If neither of the candidates is any good, then tell voters that. |
