On the proposals: The news for everything appears grim

So, I've seen lots of stories on polling regarding the ballot proposals today, and it looks bad ... for all of them. This one says that alternative energy and the gridlock proposal appear headed down in flames. Here, MLive says Proposal 1 is in trouble. In one of the three, that's great news. In one of the three, it's qualified bad news. In the third, it's just bad news. I've also seen here and there that Proposals 2 and 4 appear to be in trouble, but apparently that browser tab got closed.

By the way, the best editorial endorsement on this comes from our friends in Traverse City. They advocate no on everything but 3. This is why:

Proposal 3 is a constitutional amendment that would require 25 percent of Michigan's energy come from renewable sources, such as wind, solar and biomass, by 2025. Like Proposal 2, this is not the kind of business that should be done via a constitutional amendment. But Michigan must soon move to renewable energy sources to reduce costs and curb pollution and the Legislature absolutely cannot be trusted to do that. Michigan's biggest utilities are spending millions to oppose Proposal 3. That leaves it up to voters. Vote "yes."

Again, Proposal 3 doesn't represent out-of-state special interests trying to buy off Michigan's constitution. It represents a failure by the Legislature to do its job.

Update! ... Here's the polling info on Proposal 6, again taking into account that polling on ballot questions ought to be taken with a grain of salt. This means Matty Maroun would have spent $31 million in a failed attempt to etch his own personal monopoly into the state constitution. If you know someone who is still undecided, tell them to stop being stupid.
