| The rage this morning is the news that Hostess is shutting down production of Wonder Bread and Twinkies. Actually, if what I've read is accurate, Hostess is shutting down production and plans to sell its assets. That means if it's still a profitable brand, we'll again have Twinkies soon enough, and luckily their shelf life is so long that we probably won't see any Twinkie riots or anything. In honor of the Twinkie -- that substanceless, sugary log of awful -- I give you this. — "I'm not a carbon tax guy," Congressman Fred Upton told The Hill on Tuesday. If you read this, and know nothing more about it, you have no idea what a carbon tax is, or why Fred Upton might be against it. In fact, if you followed the link, you'd still have no idea what a carbon tax is, or how it works. You'd also have no idea that it's the chief alternative to a cap-and-trade program.
