| John Gleason was a state senator. John Gleason is now the Genesee County Clerk. John Gleason resigned from the Senate to take his current job, leaving a vacancy that has to be filled in a special election. Now, John Gleason is angry that this special election has been called by the governor. GENESEE COUNTY, MI -- Former Democratic Sen. John Gleason blasted Republican Gov. Rick Snyder's choice of special election dates on Wednesday, calling the governor a "dink" on Gleason's public Facebook page. As the newly sworn in county clerk-register, Gleason said the date set by Snyder's office for the special election to fill the vacant 27th District state Senate seat will be a financial burden for the county and cash-strapped city of Flint elections departments.
John Gleason wanted that Senate seat to remain vacant until November because John Gleasaon didn't want to pay for an election to replace him in the Legislature out of his own budget. He also referred to the governor as a "dink" on his Facebook page, like John Gleason isn't an important elected official but instead a filthy-mouthed blogger. |
