Disappearing coverage

The coverage of climate change in the media was weaker this past year than in the two or three previous.  I think that a count of the number of stories in the past few years has shown climate change coverage to be decreasing quite a lot. But major climate events are becoming more common and worse, like the ongoing drought in the central states. Media consolidation behind industries that benefit from the fossil fuel system is likely the cause of the worsening coverage. Not to claim any conspiracy, but the obvious inverse correlation is not likely a coincidence.
