| The idea of universal background checks for firearms sales prompted Ted Nugent to say that some of his buddies are willing to make another go-around on Concord Bridge. In other words, they're willing to start an armed insurrection because the president wants merchants at gun shows to run checks on potential customers to make sure they aren't dangerous lunatics. At some point, this has to be asked ... how much of this is really Ted Nugent talking tough, and how much is Ted Nugent hiding behind the skirt of the Constitution, that when the rubber really hit the road that he'd issue statements that when he talks about fighting Fedzilla with firearms that it's a metaphor only smart people understand. We also have to keep in mind that he vowed to be dead or in prison by, I think, April. There is also the question of whether this bluster is intended to help make that a self-fulfilling prophecy. |
