| Last week, Virginia rejected the same election rigging scheme that Peter Lund thinks better represents the will of the voters. Now, Joel Johnson wants Michigan women to have an invasive ultrasound before having an abortion, a mandate that Virginia last year rejected as too invasive (they can opt for a abdominal ultrasound). Two Democrats, Charles Brunner and Terry Brown, have sponsored it. There are times when the outrage just gives way to exasperation. In this case, why is it that ideas tried out in other places that don't work because people ultimately don't want them have to get tried out here? Why can no one say, "Well, this created a giant public backlash in Virginia, so perhaps this is someplace we don't need to go?" Why do we need to buy all of Virginia's remaindered dumb ideas? |
