Congressional District Watch - An Update

by: lpackard

Tue Jan 09, 2007 at 10:59:38 AM EST

Followup to my previous post back in December. Better quick post this before Michlib shuts its doors. *cough*

Our project of helping start or assist a watch blog in every Republican district is moving along swimmingly. Looks like only the 6th and the 11th have yet to get one (and I hear that folks in the 11th are working on it!)

Update: If you're interested in starting a watchblog in your area, contact LiberalLucy for help.

Without further ado, meet your Congressional Watchblogs:

Shadow Pete (CD02)
Eye on Ehlers (CD03)
Duplicitous Dave (CD04)
Walberg Watch (CD07)
Mr Rogers' Neighborhood (CD08)
Vote No on Joe (CD09)
Candy Land (CD10)

These are great (0.00 / 0)
As a contributor to Walberg Watch I appreciate the promotion that you do. I was thinking that we should not limit ourselves to just watching the Republicans. It would be great if there were blogs supporting each member of the Michigan Democratic delegation. In addition to supporting them it would give me a source to link to show a comparison to Walberg. When Tim votes no on raising the minimum wage I would be able to link to a site that shows what Sandy Levin did and why he supports it. It would be a way of showing how great it would be to have a Democrat in the 7th.

What do others think?

Who's in the 11th? (0.00 / 0)
I keep hearing that people are working on the 11th...well, I am ready to contribute, and I don't want to start something by myself if people are already in progress.  Whoever is leading the way on the 11th WatchBlog, please throw me a bone.

I am new to the game here, but I became a Precinct Delegate, and tried to volunteer as much as possible for Tony Trupiano and Glenn Anderson this last go-around.  I'm looking forward to working with my fellow progressives in the 11th!

It's coming, I promise. (0.00 / 0)
We're working on it.

Putting conservatives in charge of our government makes about as much sense as GM hiring a CEO who hates cars.

Count me in, too (0.00 / 0)
I'm a precinct delegate from Canton Township, and also worked on Tony T.'s campaign last fall.

Sorry for being a little late to the party but I had a December 31 book deadline, followed by a series of smaller projects that got backlogged while I finished the manuscript.

By the way, if you have a spare minute today, call Thaddeus McCotter's office to express your concern over President Bush's imminent announcement of further escalation of the Iraq war. The phone number for McCotter's
D.C. office is 202-225-8171, and the number for his district office in Livonia is 734-632-0314.

I'm really blown away (0.00 / 0)
by how fast some of this has come together. Everyone who's chipping in with these congressional blogs deserves a big pat on the back. Keep up the great work, everyone!

Y'all need a little patience please.

I've got to do some work that pays bills too.

I understand... (0.00 / 0)
We just see the others getting attention, and are excited to start beating up on that guitar-playing weasel who (mis)represents us!  I just fixed my computer at home, so I plan on putting some things together for the eventual arrival of the CD11 blog.

Thanks for the work you are doing...I will try and contain my excitement!

Looking forward to your participation (0.00 / 0)
We need your excitement - don't contain it.

Keep gathering info on the thin skinned mama's boy. We're going to use every piece of it!

And of course, thank you so much for your efforts.

Giant kudos to everyone participating. I really am blown away with the enthusiasm and hard work being contributed to these blogs. You all are a model for the country.

Thanks too to lpackard and Liberal Lucy for nurturingand encouraging  everyone.

I'll keep a close eye on Duplitous Dave and will link to it from my own blog. I'll let you know if I see anything worth including. Thanks for doing this!
