by: David Boyle

I'm not actually in front of a TV, but maybe one of you can do running commentary.

Especially on the 20% gas use cut recommendation, vis-a-vis Detroit auto stuff...

  Lots to cry about...

30 minutes and counting.... (4.00 / 1)
The State of the Union is scheduled to begin in 30 minutes.  I am not looking forward to this.....every time I hear George W. speak, I get cranky....he just frustrates me with his complete and total disrespect for the American people and our wishes.

We'll see what he has to say, with that annoying little smirk on his face.

Lemony smirket: a series of unfortunate events (0.00 / 0)
We'll see how much he smirks, with the big lemons that life has given him to suck on lately...

True...lemons.... (4.00 / 1)
But I honestly believe that he naturally has a smirk....Campbell Brown is the first reporter to be in the House Chamber reporting, during the State of the Nation.

Campbell is now talking about the fact that most of George W's speeches are in front of friendly audiences and tonight (obviously) is not the case.

FYI:  Hillary Clinton is sitting directly behind Obama!

Thx for reporting (0.00 / 0)
I shan't be able to access a TV at all, really, so you may be the main commenter here...

George W:  "Are we ready?"

Nancy Pelosi:  Taps gavel

George W:  Something along the lines of it is his distinct pleasure to being the State of the Union as Madame Speaker?.

How do I recommend diary? (4.00 / 1)
I would do this if I knew how....

So far... (4.00 / 1)
George W:  "And I congratulate the Democrat majority"
Yeah, I bet you do, George

George W:  "Our citizens don't much care which side of the aisle we sit on, so long as we are willing to cross that aisle to get the job done?."

Three Economic Reforms:
1. Balance Federal Budget
"We can do so without raising taxes"
"We need a spending discipline in D.C."
"Earmarks slid in when not even CSPAN is watching"
"Cut the number and cost of earmarks at least in half by the end of this session"

2.
3. Take on the challenge of entitlements
Social Security and Medicade are ?.

(Sorry, I am missing parts)

Tie (4.00 / 1)
George W is wearing a light blue tie with a navy suit .... doesn't look too good.

"Must increase funds for students who struggle and make sure these children get the help they need."

Update... (4.00 / 1)

"Let's reduce gasoline usage by 20% in the next ten years."

I hope this helped!

"Now we need close consultation by both parties."

Right George. How many soldiers have died? How many soldiers have been injured? How many democrats did you consult with before?

Now that you're not in the majority, you want to talk.

Mission effing accomplished George.
