CNN is reporting that the U.S. Supreme Court ruled against the Bush Administration in a key global warming case.
Several states had sued EPA saying that the Agency should regulate CO2 as an air pollutant. Under Bush, EPA claimed they did not have the authority to regulate CO2. (In their brief they also argued that even if they had authority, they weren't convinced CO2 should be regulated anyway.)
UPDATE: I just found the case itself at SCOTUSBLOG. I haven't read it yet.

Well the Employee Free Choice Act passed with no help from my Rep. Mike "Rubberstamp" Rogers. how did your Rep. vote? Check it out. this legislation will likely face HUGE opposition from the business community and groups like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce weighing in heavily against it. Dubya also promised his billionaire buddies that he would stand up for the Paris Hilton's of the world and veto this legislation, should it make it through the senate. God forbid that corporations have to give their workers a better, safer more productive work environment and how dare they try to enrich their lives with health benefits and pension plans. Can you hear the oil exec's suffering?

Here is a question for you: if a member of your family was about to be sent to Iraq, wouldn't you want him or her to have the best available equipment?

This is, as Yogi Berra said, "This is like deja vu all over again." Writing as a Vietnam vet, what is going on in Iraq bears an uncanny resemblance to the fall of Saigon. Bush wants to send in more troops to prop up the puppet government, but can't say how he will tell if the surge succeeded or not. I suppose it will succeed because he will say that it has. Maybe he can land on a carrier again and announce "Mission Accomplished" one more time. He looked...I don't know...so manly in his flight suit. It was like he was a real soldier.

As I watched President Bush's State of the Union Address and read the 26 page document detailing his 2007 policy agenda, I realized that for the first time in 6 years I actually had something positive to say about our President. Granted he's under alot of pressure right now and its one of those issues that anyone with half a brain would support, but you can't tell me I'm the only person to question whether there was anything except empty space between his ears.
