Motor City Burning on You Tube

by: WaketheHerd

Tue May 06, 2008 at 12:22:55 PM EDT

Last July, the Ebling and You program, heard weekdays on WILS AM 1320 in Lansing, aired a sixteen part documentary I produced to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 1967 Detroit riot. The documentary aired on July 24 and 25, 2007.

As the 41st anniversary approaches, I have set up a You Tube channel which archives the entire production.

Any and all feedback on the documentary is welcome.

Sincerely,

Doug Warren

Romney to Suspend Campaign

by: greentuna

Thu Feb 07, 2008 at 12:51:03 PM EST

This just in from CNN:

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney will suspend his bid for the Republican presidential nomination, GOP sources tell CNN.

Romney had won 270 delegates in through the Super Tuesday contests, compared with front-runner John McCain's 680.

Romney had no public events Wednesday and instead met with aides to discuss strategy to stay in the race through March 4.

So, it seems it might be time to sing a chorus of "Another One Bites the Dust."

(Hilarious. - promoted by Eric B.)

TPM gives us the ad we have been waiting to see.  This spells it out clearly:

Following the Great Orange Satan's orders I do here approve of Mitt Romney.

Romney: the MI Republicans are talking

by: land of the free

Tue Feb 13, 2007 at 09:33:04 AM EST

Hey there:

I was sitting in a restaurant in Brighton yesterday with a friend, having a conversation about liberal politics & points of view. There was a very active and animated conversation between two women at the table behind me. My friend mentioned that she was pretty sure she recognized both women. She's certain that one of the people was the wife of Mike Rogers, and the other was a wife or high-level staffer of another politician. The two ladies were talking about "the campaign", how Romney wants the support of "Mike", etcetera.

I'm not one to eavesdrop, but their conversation was at a loud enough level that it immediately drew the attention of anyone in the room in their direction.

Mrs. Rogers and her lunch companion were talking about Romney. The conversation went something like this: (somewhat paraphrased)

"Romney's biggest problem is what they're calling 'TMP' - 'That Mormon Problem'."

"Oh, I know." (laughs)

"I mean, what's the first thing you think about when you hear 'Mormon'?"

"Multiple wives".

"Yeah, but they have that figured out. They're going to answer that 'Romney's the only one married to his first wife'!"

(laughter)

"But That Mormon Problem is serious. The Mormons call themselves Christian, but it's not a mainstream Christian religion at all. The things they believe are way, way out there..."

Willard "Mitt" Romney: Michigan Liberal

by: DemWave

Wed Jan 10, 2007 at 20:42:57 PM EST

Willard "Mitt" Romney (R-Taxachusetts) was born and raised in Michigan.  His daddy, George Romney (R-American Motors), was once the Governor of Michigan.

Like his daddy, Mitt wants to be the Republican nominee for President of the United States in 2008.  In 1968, Daddy Romney's presidential campaign went down in flames after he claimed that he was "brainwashed" by American Generals into supporting the Vietnam War while touring Southeast Asia three years earlier.

It's going to be interesting to see if his son claims to have been brainwashed back in 1994 when Mitt sounded like a liberal forcefully supporting abortion rights and distancing himself from the patron saint of right-wing Republicans, Ronald Reagan:

So was Mitt Romney (R-Taxachusetts) brainwashed back in 1994 when he was trying to run to the left of Ted Kennedy or is he really a liberal from Michigan that Michigan liberals can support?

The Romney for President effort in Michigan is headed up by none other than House Minority Leader Craig DeRoche.  It's not yet clear what's going to be more difficult task for the deposed House speaker:  (1) trying to explain away Romney's liberal past; or (2) explaining to Republicans how he mangaged to lose the Michigan House while the Republicans hung on to control the Michigan Senate and didn't lose a single congressional seat in Michigan in 2006.
