A little harsh-sounding, but when you consider that the unnecessary luxury box program at Michigan Stadium will cost over $200 million, and the Governor says that $151 million may be cut from state aid to schools (see "Superintendents discuss funding" in the Daily Telegram), the math seems to work out. Which expenditure is more important, a football palace for fat cats or saving our kids? (And see my Arblogger post today, "Kelch cops crazy cash from Coleman", re the new $500,000 bonus that UM medical administrator Bob Kelch is being given by Mary Sue Coleman. Is he going to starve without it?) Am I missing something here? Or are people in Lansing (whoever they are) just so stupid, bribable, or corrupt that they can't do simple math and allocate things the way they should be allocated? (rhetorical question) Let's hope they aren't that bad, or that they are redeemable even if they are. We're waiting...
